Video Production

Do you have a brief format for a corporate or commercial video?

Yes, we have a Corporate Video Brief Document available for download. The more details you can provide upfront, the more precise our proposal will be and the more accurate the costs will be.

How much does a corporate/commercial video cost?
The cost of a corporate video can vary widely depending on several factors like the number of filming days, crew requirements, equipment needed, and the complexity of post-production. To give you an idea, most basic videos we produce start around $3,000, but a typical shoot and associated post-production costs can range closer to $10,000 and up. Check out our How to Budget for a Corporate Video blog or for more specific pricing, feel free to request a detailed quote.
Can you provide a quick quote?
Absolutely! Send us an email with your brief, no matter how simple, and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours, or even the same day if time is critical. You can also call us at 301-842-7070 to discuss your project.
Will there be any additional costs after the initial quote?
We provide a full breakdown of costs in the initial quote so you can see exactly what’s included. If any changes or additions to the project arise, we will always give you a revised quote for approval.
What are your standard payment terms?

Our standard payment terms are:

  • 50% due upon confirmation of the project.
  • 50% due upon project completion, with a 30-day payment window.
How much input do you need from us to produce a corporate video?
While we take care of the production process, your expertise on your brand and video goals is crucial. We request a clear brief at the beginning to ensure we understand your vision. Our team will also stay in close communication throughout the production to make sure we meet your expectations.
How long should a corporate/commercial video be?

The length of your video will depend on the subject matter and where it will be shown. Here’s a general guide:

  • Trailer: 15-30 seconds
  • Intro to a presentation: 90 seconds
  • LinkedIn: 1 minute
  • Website: Up to 2 minutes
  • In-depth material: Up to 4.5 minutes
  • Long Form Content (Branded Documentary, Instructional/Training Videos, etc.): 5 minutes and up>

We can also tailor different versions for different platforms.

Do you have a studio we can film in?
Yes, we have a 2100-square-foot studio available in the heart of Frederick, equipped for various types of filming including interviews and promotional content.
What space do you need to film in our office?
For a typical talking head interview, we need a quiet space that’s at least 12 x 8 feet. It should be free from distractions and allow us to control lighting. We’ll also need a space for storing equipment. It’s best to arrange a visit or share photos of your available spaces ahead of time.
How large will the crew be for our shoot?

The size of the crew depends on the scope of your project. For a typical talking head interview, our crew usually consists of:

  • Producer/director
  • Director of photography
  • Sound recordist

Larger projects require a bigger crew.

How long will each interview take?
Typically, we allocate about 4 hours for one interview and around 5 hours for two. This includes time for setup and takedown. If we’re filming multiple interviews, we’ll adjust the schedule to accommodate camera and lighting changes.
Who asks the interview questions?
We recommend our director conduct the interview as they are skilled at guiding responses to create the best video narrative. If you’d prefer someone from your team to handle the interview, our director will provide support to ensure we capture the material you need.
What should interviewees wear for the shoot?

We suggest wearing simple, bold colors and avoiding patterns, logos, or black and white. If shooting against a colored backdrop, clothing that contrasts with the background will work best. Our team will guide you on clothing choices during pre-production to ensure everything looks great on camera.

Can you arrange a voiceover for our video?
Yes! We have access to a range of voiceover artists and will work with you to select the best voice for your project. We can provide samples to help you make your choice.
Can you include graphics in our video?
Definitely! Our in-house graphics team can create everything from 2D infographics and motion graphics to 3D animations, depending on your needs. Let us know what you’re looking for and we can tailor a package to fit.
What music is used in the video?
We offer a wide selection of royalty-free music from trusted sources. You’ll have the option to choose from several tracks, or feel free to browse our library. Music licensing is included in your budget, so you won’t have to worry about re-licensing once your video is live.
Can you create subtitles for our video?
Yes, we offer both hard and soft (closed) captioning, depending on your needs. Soft captions allow viewers to choose from multiple languages, while hard captions are embedded into the video. We’ll discuss your subtitle needs during pre-production.
Can we take still images from the finished video?
While videos are lower resolution than still images, we can capture frame grabs from your video for online use. If you need high-quality photos for print, we recommend a dedicated photographer on set.
How many rounds of feedback do we get?
Typically, we offer three rounds of feedback during the editing process. We aim to keep revisions smooth and efficient so your final product meets your vision.
How long will the editing process take?
The editing process can vary depending on the complexity of the project, but generally, a typical video will be completed within 5-10 days, including time for client feedback. More complex projects, like animated videos, may take longer.
Can we update or re-edit a video in the future?
Absolutely! We can make updates, re-edits, or repurpose footage at any time. Just let us know what you need.
Do you keep a copy of our footage?
Yes, we store two copies of your footage for safekeeping. If you need it later, there may be a small fee for retrieval and delivery.
Can you upload our video to YouTube?
While we recommend managing your YouTube uploads directly, we’re happy to guide you through the process. If needed, we offer YouTube Channel Management services for clients with frequent video needs.

Photography Production

Do you have a brief format for a commercial photography project?

Yes! We have a downloadable Commercial Photography Brief Document available. The more details you can provide about your project, the more accurate our proposal and costs will be.

How much does commercial photography cost?

The cost of commercial photography varies based on several factors, including:

  • The number of shooting days.
  • The size of the production team required.
  • The level of equipment and setup involved.
  • The scope and complexity of post-production edits.

While it’s difficult to provide a one-size-fits-all answer, simple shoots typically start at $1000, while larger-scale productions involving more advanced setups are closer to $10,000 or more.

We encourage you to reach out for a tailored quote!

Can you turn around a quick quote?

Absolutely! Email us at contact@lockhousestudios.com with your project details—no matter how simple—and we’ll get a detailed quote back to you within 24 hours or even the same day if it’s urgent. You can also download our Commercial Photography Brief Document to help organize your information.

Prefer to talk it through? Call us at 301-842-7070!

Will there be additional costs after the initial quote?
We provide a full breakdown of costs in the initial quote so you’ll know exactly what the proposed budget covers. If the project scope stays the same, there won’t be any hidden costs.
However, if the brief evolves or you require additional services (e.g., an extra day of shooting or advanced retouching), we’ll always provide those costs in writing before proceeding.
What are your standard payment terms?

Our standard payment terms are:

  • 50% upfront upon confirmation of the booking.
  • 50% upon completion of the project, invoiced with 30-day terms.
How much input will we need to provide for the shoot?

We’re here to guide you through every step of the process, but your input is invaluable when it comes to ensuring the shoot aligns with your brand’s needs and vision.

At the outset, we’ll ask for a clear brief (email, attachment, or call). While we encourage clients to stay involved throughout the planning and shooting stages, rest assured we’ll take the lead on all the creative and logistical details.

How long should a commercial photo shoot take?

The length of the shoot depends on the scope of the project. For example:

  • A basic product photography session may take a half-day.
  • A branded lifestyle campaign may require one or more full-day shoots.

We’ll discuss timing during pre-production and ensure that we schedule appropriately to meet your needs.

Do you have a studio we can use?

Yes! We have a fully equipped studio space, ideal for commercial photography, including product, portrait, and lifestyle shoots. Our studio features:

  • Professional-grade lighting equipment.
  • Various backdrops and props.
  • Client amenities like a lounge, makeup/dressing room and parking.
  • Load in area with the double doors.
What kind of space will you need if we shoot at our location?

For on-location shoots, here’s what works best:

  • A spacious area (we will bring lighting to supplement).
  • Quiet surroundings for uninterrupted shooting.
  • A staging area for equipment and setup.

We’re happy to scout your location ahead of time or review photos to ensure it meets production needs.

How big will the team be for our shoot?

The size of our team depends on the scope of the project. For most commercial photography shoots, the team typically includes:

  • A photographer.
  • A stylist (optional, for products, food, or wardrobe).
  • A photo assistant (depending on complexity).

Larger productions, such as lifestyle campaigns, may involve additional crew like hair and makeup artists, set designers, or art directors.

Who handles art direction during the shoot?
Our team is skilled in art direction and will take charge of overseeing the creative execution of the shoot. However, we always encourage client collaboration, whether that means being on set or approving concepts ahead of time.
Can you provide models or props?
Yes, we can help source models, props, and even location rentals if needed. Let us know during the planning phase, and we’ll include these elements in your proposal.
What should contributors (e.g., models or employees) wear for the shoot?

We recommend clothing that aligns with your brand and looks polished yet neutral. Avoid:

  • Busy patterns or stripes.
  • Excessive black or white.
  • Visible logos, unless branded apparel is intentional.

For lifestyle shoots, we can provide a wardrobe stylist to help select outfits. It’s also a good idea to have a few backup options on hand.

Can you take behind-the-scenes photos during the shoot?
Absolutely! Behind-the-scenes content can be a great asset for your social media channels. Let us know in advance, and we’ll capture these moments.
Do you provide retouching services?

Yes! Every project includes basic retouching, but we also offer advanced editing services, such as:

  • Skin retouching.
  • Background clean-up or removal.
  • Product enhancements.
How long does the editing process take?

The timeline depends on the complexity and number of images. For example:

  • Simple product edits: 3-5 business days.
  • Larger campaigns: 1-2 weeks.

We’ll provide a detailed schedule during pre-production.

How many feedback opportunities do I get?

We typically include two rounds of revisions in our standard packages to ensure your satisfaction.

Will we receive high-resolution images?
Yes! All final images will be delivered in high-resolution format, suitable for both print and digital use.
Can we update or re-edit photos in the future?

Absolutely! We archive all project files for a set period and can revisit or update images as needed. Additional costs may apply for re-edits or new formats.

Do you handle licensing and usage rights?
Yes, all our images come with standard licensing terms, but we can customize usage rights depending on your needs (e.g., exclusivity or extended usage). Let us know your requirements, and we’ll outline everything in the agreement.
Can you help with hosting or delivering the images?
Yes, we deliver images via a secure online gallery for easy download and sharing. If you need additional services, like creating branded image libraries or managing cloud storage, let us know!
