The Shining: A Vision Rewritten
Blank wall with some props just not cutting it? How about taking it to the next level with a custom set build to transform the studio into a cinematic scene? Here’s how we made it happen and gave local creators access to a premium shoot experience…
Overview
CAPTURE Vol. 1 was a full-scale creative showcase hosted at Lockhouse Studios, designed to demonstrate the elevated production potential of the space. The event featured a fully custom-built cinematic set inspired by The Shining, with immersive lighting design by Lockhouse’s in-house team. Over the course of five days, photographers, video producers, and content creators booked time in the space to create portfolio-level visuals and branded content.
This case study gives you a preview of how Lockhouse Studios is much more than a rental space… it’s a production-ready environment built for visual storytelling and high-end creative projects. When using the rental studio in combination with production services, you unlock the full creative potential that ensures you deliver high-impact, premium content.
The Vision
Lockhouse Studios wanted to showcase its capabilities beyond standard studio rentals – the blank canvas is meant for cinematic level transformations through custom set design.
The desire was for an immersive event that could show off the studio’s versatility for custom set builds, professional lighting design, and hosting multi-day shoots that serve photographers, filmmakers, podcasters, and other creatives.
The challenge was to create a compelling in-studio experience that not only attracted creators but also positioned Lockhouse as a destination for high-concept visual production and creative events.
This was also an opportunity to live out one of the core missions for Lockhouse Studios – to be the production hub where local creatives can collaborate, innovate, and produce impressive content that raises the bar for visual media.
The Final Product – AKA How We Made It Happen
In collaboration with BeeCat Creative and Meech Creative, the studio hosted a fully built set inspired by The Shining, designed for content creators, photographers, and filmmakers. This meant handling everything from design concept to sourcing to set construction and finally, live event management.
The launch event included an open house, live demonstration, and content-friendly moments that encouraged guests to capture and share on social media. Creators were also invited to book the studio for their own private shoots in the days that followed. This gave Lockhouse Studios prime exposure to the creative community with widespread organic sharing from participants. The carefully curated event increased brand awareness and deepened recognition for being a premium content studio and production company.
Lockhouse successfully utilized this event to produce marketing content that highlighted the studio’s transformation and capabilities for various styles of content creators and their production needs.
